It's Our PassionOne look at the exquisite Lagerquist Concert Hall, and you can tell that PLU has a passion for the arts. The facility, part of the Mary Baker Russell Music Center, plays host to more than 100 annual concerts that feature students, faculty artists and renowned guest performers. You’ll hear an incredible array of musical styles, including choral, band, orchestra, operatic, solo, chamber and jazz. And unlike many other universities and conservatories with exemplary music programs, ours has opportunities for performers of all experience levels.
We’re not known only for our music. PLU gives the same level of attention and professionalism to all programs in the arts. There are plenty of chances to polish your skills on four main-stage theatrical shows each year, not to mention dozens of other events put on by PLU’s many performance clubs. Now under renovation is our performing arts center which will house a new studio theater beginning next fall.
The nationally ranked forensics team regularly travels to national and international intercollegiate competitions. For those interested in the visual arts, the University Gallery features five exhibitions each year including those by faculty and seniors. The Wekell Gallery regularly hosts exhibits from students in current art classes.
There’s nothing stopping you from exploring your creative side at PLU.
