CREW: Lutes Enter 10 Boats in NCRC Invitational
THIS WEEKEND: Pacific Lutheran has a total of
10 boats entered at the NCRC Invitational this Saturday on Vancouver
Lake in Vancouver, Wash. The event gets underway at 8 a.m.
WOMEN’S VARSITY 8 KICKS IT OFF: PLU’s
women’s Varsity 8 boat will get things going for Pacific
Lutheran at the NCRC Invitational this Saturday. The Lutes will
compete against six other schools in the Division III Varsity
8 race, the first one on the course at 8 a.m. Other women’s
boats competing this weekend include second Varsity 8, Novice
8, two women’s Lightweight Varsity 4, and Novice 4. The
women’s Varsity 8 boat comes back for a seven-boat final
featuring Division III and Division II boats, that race scheduled
for 1:40 p.m.
MEN’S BOATS ON THE WATER: Pacific Lutheran
will have a small handful of men’s boats on the water this
Saturday, including the men’s Lightweight Varsity 4, Varsity
2 without coxswain and Novice 4.
LAST WEEK: The Lute rowers took third place
in three races at the Daffodil Cup held Saturday, March 29 at
American Lake. The Lutes were third in the women's second novice
8, the women's novice 8 and the men's second varsity 4. The University
of Puget Sound won five events, while Washington State University
and Western Washington University won three events each and Lewis
& Clark College won one event.
