Several Lutes Set Season Best Marks at
Oregon Preview
Results
EUGENE, Ore. – A small contingent of Pacific Lutheran track
and field athletes competed at the Oregon Preview today in Eugene.
The team also competed yesterday at the Charles Bowles Invitational,
but the Lutes shook off their fatigue and were able to set some
season best marks.
Sprinters Lakia Arceneax and Amy LeBrun both ran their fastest
times of the season in the shorter events. Arceneax posted a 12.85
in the 100-meter dash while LeBrun ran a 26.46 in the 200-meter
dash. Faven Araya ran a lifetime best in the 100-meter hurdles.
Her time of 15.48 moves her up to the 15th spot on the all-time
top 25 list. Araya also improved on her
season best mark in the 400-meter hurdles with a 1:03.63 performance.
Up next for the thinclads is the Linfield decathlon/heptathlon
meet, which takes place on March 24-25 in McMinnville. The meet
will pit the Northwest Conference's top mulit-event athletes against
one another.
