PLU Finishes With 3-1 Record at Pacific Coast Classic

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Pacific Lutheran split a pair of matches on Saturday to finish with a 3-1 overall record at the Pacific Coast Classic volleyball tournament.

The Lutes came out flat against tournament host Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Saturday's opener, losing 15-25, 25-21, 15-25, 34-32, 15-13. "We didn't play up to our standards," said PLU head coach Kevin Aoki.

Without a break, the Lutes returned to the court and came up with their second four-set win over UC Santa Cruz in the last two weekends, winning this one 20-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-18.

PLU, with a 5-3 overall record, returns to action next Friday, Sept. 12, when it hosts Saint Martin's at 7 p.m. in Olson Auditorium.
