PLU School of Business

PLU Career Mentorship Program

About the Program

The PLU Career Mentorship Program seeks to connect students with School of Business Alumni in the professional community.  The program enables alumni to share with current students their own work experiences and provide them with the insight and guidance to succeed.

The program is coordinated by the School of Business and PLU Business Network and provides a unique opportunity for Undergraduate and Graduate business students. The goal of the Career Mentorship Program is to allow students to begin networking with professionals in their desired career fields prior to entering the work force. This valuable opportunity is a way for students to investigate different careers, obtain information about a specific industry, and receive personal guidance, while connecting with potential decision makers and gaining real world experience.

Mentors serve as advisors to students by providing industry knowledge, insight, community leadership, personal experiences, and networking opportunities.  Career mentorship opportunities can range from reviewing a resume and cover letter, critiquing interview techniques, including the student in a business function, and recommending a student for an internship or job.  The hope is that the mentor relationships extend beyond the students’ time at PLU and into their careers.
