Biography
Dr. Olgun F. Sahin is a Visiting Professor at Pacific Lutheran University and a Professor of Finance at Minnesota State University Moorhead (MSUM). He was a Co-Chair of School of Business at MSUM between 2010 and 2012. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Public Finance from Uludag University in Bursa, Turkey. He received a full scholarship from Turkish Ministry of Education to study in the US after passing a nationwide exam. He later completed his MBA degree at Stuart School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago. He earned his Ph.D. in Finance from John Cook School of Business, Saint Louis University in May 2002. He has been a faculty member at MSUM since August 2002. He received his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in October 2008. His research has appeared in the Journal of Accounting and Finance, International Journal of Monetary Economics and Finance, Journal of Real Estate Research and Advances in Quantitative Analysis of Finance and Accounting. His primary research interests include corporate and real estate finance. He is a member of the American Finance Association, CFA Institute and the Financial Management Association International. He is also a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of Managerial Finance.
