
Students engage with intellectual leaders on important social issues At first glance, it seems PLU would be an unlikely center for the study and scholarship of the Holocaust. But you shouldn't be surprised – the university has a long tradition of working for issues of justice and tolerance. Each year PLU's annual Powell and Heller Holocaust Conference brings highly regarded international Holocaust scholars to campus, where they discuss the most difficult issues of our time. This kind of prestige also brings dollars – at the most recent conference, the university announced an endowment total of $2 million, ensuring this scholarly work at PLU will continue, and the university will remain one of the premier centers for Holocaust studies in the nation.
