Biography

Kelsey is a senior from Pasco, Washington majoring in biology and psychology.  She has served on University Congregation council for three years in a variety of roles including treasurer, vice president, and president. She is excited to be back on council as a member-at-large for the fall as to finish up her last semester.  University Congregation and She thinks Campus Ministry have been wonderful families to be apart of during her time at PLU and is excited to continue providing a religious community for old and new students this semester.  Some of her favorite memories with campus ministry include: participating in a scavenger hunt in the Fremont district of Seattle, traveling to Guatemala to volunteer, meet the child that University Congregation sponsors, and watch the stunning and powerful processionals that sweep the streets during Holy Week, going to the circus, visiting a Greek Orthodox Monastery, sitting in the 15 passenger van and scheming up plans to start a fictional liturgical hip-hop team, going to Holden Village, serving dinner at Peace Lutheran Church, and many more.

In addition to studying and Campus Ministry, Kelsey is also a member of the PLU dance team and has participated in the annual dance ensemble for the past four years (even having the chance to choreography my own piece). She is a tutor through the Academic Assistance Center Office, a research assistant, and a dance teacher at a local studio in Tacoma.  She loves to dance, travel, watch documentaries or foreign films, read, hike, spend time with family and friends, go to farmer's markets, and much more.  She is currently applying to doctorate programs in clinical psychology (cross your fingers for me that she gets in) and when she is finished in December she has plans to drive from Florida back to Washington State with one of her best friends and volunteer in Kenya, Cambodia, Bolivia, or someplace else (She has not quite figured that out yet) before more school next August/September.

One thing that people would not know about Kelsey is that she can't whistle or wink no matter how many times people have tried to teach her.
