Campus Ministry

Ways you can be Involved:

There are a number of ways you can get involved.  Each role has special importance in the functions of the Campus Ministry Office and the worship here on campus.  As a student, you bring your own creative energy to the stage, the microphone, or even the office!

Leap of Faith

Leap of Faith

The Leap of Faith Dancers is a liturgical dance group that shares its gifts at Chapel and University Congregation.

Worship Assistant
University Congregation is a student-run congregation.  As such, we utilize our best asset--students!  It is easy to get involved as:

  • an usher
  • a communion assistant
  • lector (the reader of the lessons)
  • intercessor (the reader of the prayers)
  • cantor (the song leader)

We also seek out worship assistants for Chapel and Holden Evening Prayer.  We are always looking for a few good Lutes to help us out!

Holden Evening Prayer
This service centers on prayer, meditation and silence. Worship is held every Tuesday evening at 9pm in the chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church. Students can volunteer to participate as readers or musicians. Contact Campus Ministry if you are interested. A light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it! Trinity Lutheran church is located across the street from PLU at 12115 Park Avenue South.

Music and Dance
Consider joining the Leap of Faith Dancers, the Campus Ministry worship band, Deliverance, providing special music for any of our worship opportunities, or joining Chapel Choir.

Service Projects
Campus Ministry and the University Congregation Council organize many opportunities for hands-on service projects throughout the year. Please call or e-mail the Campus Ministry Office if you would like to be involved!

Members of Interfaith and Campus Ministry at PLU tended yards for some elderly residents of the Parkland community for the 9-11 day of service.
