Vehicle Registration Information
Registration begins during the summer before the start of the school year. Only one decal will be issued per person, regardless of how many vehicles are registered. This is done to prevent having vehicles 'stored' in the parking lots, taking up spaces.
Parking on the PLU campus is by decal only. All members of this community must register their vehicles with the Campus Safety office within 48 hours of the vehicle being brought to campus. In the meantime, to avoid being ticketed until your registration is complete and you have been given a proper decal, a temporary pass may be obtained from the Campus Safety office. You must have either a decal or a temporary pass to park in any PLU lot (with the exception of those with handicap placards). An appropriate decal is issued upon registration. Because parking space is at a premium on campus it is imperative that everyone parks in their assigned area. Parking tickets are written to vehicles that are not registered and for parking in reserved or unauthorized areas. Registered decals are valid from opening day of the residence halls until August 31 on the last year on the decal.
Costs for parking decals for the 2012-2013 year are:
Faculty/Admin/Staff: No cost. Employees are elgible for a second decal at the cost of $60. Contact Campus Safety for more information.
* Resident/Commuter Students: $40
Freshman Students (living on campus): $40
South Hall (S. Hall residents only): Total of $115 year / $80 half year
Tingelstad Gated Lot: Total of $175 year / $115 half year
Student decals are billed to their student account.
* Resident = students living on campus / Commuter = students living at home and commuting to campus for classes
Replacements for lost or stolen decals will be $20. Student lost decals will be billed to their student accounts. Employees that have lost their decals will need to pay for the replacment at the Concierge desk in the University Center.
