PLU community members may rent vehicles for PLU authorized business purposes only. There are several options for renting vehicles.
Option #1 – PLU 12-passenger vans - PLU owned fleet vans. The university has a limited number of these vans. They are rented on a first come first served basis.
Option #2 – Budget Rental – Private rental agency with a contract with PLU. A variety of vehicles are available through Budget (12 passenger vans, mini-vans and cars). *Drivers for Budget Rental vehicles must be 21 years of age.* You also must have a Fast Break account established with Budget Rental in advance.
Option #3 – Zip Car rental – Private company located at PLU. These cars can be rented by the hour or for a full day. See the Zip Car website for more information ~ http://www.zipcar.com/plu
Depending on the distance you will be traveling and the number of passengers in your party a particular option may save you money.
For trips exceeding 140 miles round trip the PLU Vans are not the cheapest route. Budget or Zip Car would be better options.
It is the responsibility of the renter to refuel the vehicles. Both PLU and Budget Rental vehicles should be returned full of fuel to avoid additional charges. Users may purchase fuel with a PLU Corporate Credit Card provided by their university department or by using a personal credit/debit card. Reimbursements for gas purchases on a personal card can be done via the Business Office and require an itemized receipt.
The Facilities Management gas pump cannot be used for refueling of PLU vans or Budget Rental vehicles.
PLU Vans - $15.00 per day and $0.67 per mile. Plus fuel charges if returned with less than a full tank.

Full Size Car - $60.00
* $114 per day for one day rentals on a Tuesday or Wednesday.
