What am I good at?

Identifying your skills is an integral piece of the career development process. Each career or job is going to require a set of skills needed to be successful. By identifying your skills and personal qualities you will be able to:

  • Articulate the skills you posses when interviewing, writing resumes, etc
  • Be more effective in identifying careers that would be a good fit for your skills set
  • Gain perspective on the skills you would like to further develop.

The following are tools you can use to assess your skills:

WOIS & Focus 2 Skills Assessments: Log into the Virtual Career Center to access these assessment tools. Then complete either (or both!) of these assessments and see how your skills match up with a variety of occupations.

Skills Story: Taking time to write out your Skills Story is a useful tool for identifing and appreciating your skills.

Career Related Skills: You are developing many transferable skills as a student at PLU. See how what you do as a student translates into the workplace.
