Dementia Care: The Tools You Need to Make a Difference

Clients with dementia can pose unique challenges. Having a variety of tools at your disposal can help you make a meaningful difference in their lives as well as the lives of their families and caregivers. Important tools you need include: a solid understanding of dementia; a variety of therapeutic communication techniques and approaches; empathic behavioral strategies; creative problem-solving related to assessment and care planning; and an awareness of available community and support resources.
