Michael Bartanen joined the PLU faculty in 1979.  He teaches courses in Conflict and Global Peace Building, Argumentation, Group Communication, Peace Journalism and Media in the World.  His research interests include Communication History and the history of the study of forensics in the United States.  He is also the National Secretary-Treasurer of Pi Kappa Delta, a national speech and debate honorary.
