Location: Big Sky, MT
Cynthia was an English/language arts teacher for over thirty years in Minnesota, Colorado, and New Mexico. Now retired, Cynthia is an active volunteer in Big Sky, Montana.
Cynthia hikes in the summer and skis, but downhill and cross country, in the winter. She works for Big Sky Resort, welcoming guests and answering questions as a Mountain Host. Cynthia is part of the three book groups. She is on the Montana Synod Council, the Montana Synod Mission Table, and is an active volunteer at her church.
Inspiration to volunteer time, talent, and resources with PLU: Cynthia loves the colleges of the ELCA! She attended Gustavus Adolphus College and values the education she had there. She understands the need to spread the word about the treasures we have in our colleges. Cynthia is working on mission interpretation with her synod and would like to make sure as many of her synod members as possible know about PLU.
Favorite place on earth: Cynthia enjoys the beauty of her spot in Montana. She also enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren in Minnesota.
Something that stands out about PLU: Cynthia became a part of the ELCA’s Region 1 in 2004. Through the Region and through many visits to Holden Village, she has met many proud PLU graduates. She hopes to learn more about PLU as a cluster representative.
