Information Technology Internship at Weyerhaeuser

For these Internship role(s), you will work directly within the Information Technology team, receiving coaching and guidance as you complete assigned tasks. This role also provides an opportunity to see how IT services are delivered to Weyerhaeuser's businesses through internal support processes. Interns are matched with opportunities in a variety of areas. The types of work activities available may include planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, and support in several different parts of our IT organization. By working in our collaborative team environment, you will have the chance to learn from others while providing real value. In addition to a supervisor who focuses on the intern's job duties and performance, each intern has a mentor who supports his/her professional development. Goal setting, individual development planning and performance feedback promote professional growth. While you will have collaboration and support, candidates are encouraged to be ready, willing and able to complete tasks independently once the objectives are established. This internship is a paid position with a general duration of 6 months located in Federal Way, Washington. Housing stipend and travel not currently available.

Qualifications

Skills:
• Self-motivated, positive, and enthusiastic attitude
• Strong desire to learn, translate knowledge to a skill, and share both the knowledge and skill
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, and listening skills
• Ability to interact effectively with customers, peers and managers in person, over the telephone, and through electronic messaging (e-mail, etc.)
• Ability to both effectively work on a team and to work independently under limited supervision
• Desire to contribute creative ideas to solve real business problems

Desired Competencies/Requirements:
• Completion of at least 2 years of college (completion of 2-year degree or currently a junior/senior at a 4-yr university) or at least 2 years of IT-related work experience
• Preference given to students with a cumulative overall GPA of at least 3.0
• Analytical thinker who can understand and evaluate written and verbal material
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
