Jake Fournier: PLU Alumnus,
World Vision Senior Project Manager, Presents:

From Waterfall to Agile Methodologies
Tuesday, December 3, 2013
3:40 - 4:45, Morken 132
Jake Fournier, a PLU alumnus (2000) will present his career journey starting with the point at which he entered the job market in the midst of the dot-com era, a boom of venture capital funds and race for market share. His tech talk will center around his personal journey from watching first-hand as companies he worked for that closed up shop to working for the Redmond tech giants to now leading large technology initiatives at one of the world’s largest non-profits. The particular lens he will couple with his journey is that of the transition of the technology world from traditional waterfall planning techniques to the adoption of the agile approach. Specifically, he will share his thoughts on what it means for new graduates, and how you can frame your approach to working in an agile system. In addition, Jake has sat through many interviews with graduates applying for tech jobs from many different schools, from programmers to testers to project managers. He will discuss and field questions you may have about how to best enter the technology field fresh out of school.
Refreshments will be provided
