AP Computer Science Now Counts as
Math or Science Credit
According to www.washingtononstem.org, Governor Inslee signed House Bill 1472 May 14, 2013, to allow Washington schools to count the advanced placement (AP) computer science class as a math or science credit. Since computer science skills are in such high demand and many jobs in the state go unfilled because the right skills are lacking, accessing strong computer science education is much needed. Instead of previously counting an AP computer science as an elective, high schools now have the opportunity to offer this course for academic credit.
