Preparing for Soaring Demand in
Computer Science:
www.code.org

Since the demand for people trained in software engineering and programming is expected to soar through at least 2020, the vision of www.code.org, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation, is making it possible for students in every school to have more opportunities to learn how to code.  According to www.code.org, this foundation's goals are:

  • Spreading the word that there is a worldwide shortage of computer programmers, and that it's much easier to learn to program than you think.
  • Building an authoritative database of all programming schools, whether they are online courses, brick+mortar schools or summer camps.

As Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google, said "For most people on Earth, the digital revolution hasn't even started yet. Within the next 10 years, all that will change. Let's get the whole world coding!
