Tech Support in the Andes
Dr. George Hauser, PLU CSCE Professor
Tuesday, November 5, 2013
3:40 - 4:45, Morken Center, Room 132
Dr. Hauser thought volunteering to teach at an Amerindian school above the Cordillera Blanca city of Huaraz seemed like a great idea. The main problem seemed to be that he didn’t know Spanish. He learned a lot of Spanish but, on arriving, he discovered quickly that there were other problems: the computers needed work, no one knew the administrator password, and solving the problem took him on an arduous, fascinating, and stimulating journey. Come and find out the joys and the trials Dr. Hauser experienced in the Andes.
Refreshments will be served.
