In light of the circumstances surrounding the 2008 Campaign and election, the dCenter invites you to a panel discussion featuring various perspectives surrounding the issues of Race and Age and how the effect things like the media and more importantly—the way you vote.
The dCenter presents for the second time the Got Privilege? series, focusing this year on abelism, socioeconomic, and religious privilege. Similar to last year, there will be panel discussions every week during the month of November. Come with open ears, questions, and comments to enrich our ongoing discussion of what it means to be privileged in our US-American society.
Our English Conversation Table brings non-native English speakers together with native English speakers. The primary goal of this weekly event is forInternational Student or Embassy T2 students to use English more naturally in everyday situations and learn more about oral English. usually there are about 15-20 students will present. We always grab a big table in UC commons and have lunch with casual conversations in English.

Food for thought-literally. Once a month, the DCenter brings you Appetizers with Engaging Talk. This hour long, informal talk centers on topics such as homosexuality, women, and religion; gender roles in relationships; and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. Come and take part in meaningful conversations, hear other’s perspectives and worldviews, and have a little bite to eat in the process.
Come and nourish your soul and join the DCenter as we travel to various places in the Tacoma and Seattle area to sample food from different cultures.

The Students of Color Retreat, offered during the Fall semester, is a time for students, faculty, administrators, and staff to connect and discuss issues of diversity, culture, race, and racism, and how these subjects affect their every day lives here at PLU. The Retreat is focused on creating a safe space for people of color at PLU, and developing strategies for change.
The event will serve students who enjoy cross culture interaction, organizations and students will be presenting their own different culture in many ways including, food, dancing, and arts and crafts during the night.
