My site no longer appears under the departments folder, where did it go?
Short Answer: To access your newly migrated site head to the dropdown menu in the top left which should say "Global" by default and select the corresponding site name.
Long Answer: In this version of Cascade a new method has been implemented to organize the site structure. Previously all site content was stored in a single folder called Global. In this new version of Cascade the sites have been separated into their own folder/section which can now be accessed via the dropdown menu in the top left which should say "Global" by default.
Why can't I see a preview of my site in Cascade anymore?
Short Answer: We recommend publishing your content to "preview.plu.edu" and viewing your website in a separate window/tab
Long Answer: Due to the new organization of the page assets in Cascade we have found it to be detrimental to the user experience to render a preview of a page within Cascade. The previous version of a page asset would contain all the content of the page within the page form, the new page asset and widget assets are now dynamic and Cascade provides an unsatisfactory experience when rendering a preview. Thus, we recommend publishing your content to the preview server first then publishing to production afterwards. For example: A change has been made to the homepage of my site, such as adding a new widget, and I want to see the results without actually changing the homepage on production. In this case I would publish my homepage to preview and open a new tab/window in my browser and open my site by going to http://preview.plu.edu/my_site_name/home.php. Once I am satisfied with the preview then I would go back to Cascade and publish my content to production.
How do Containers work?
Containers are just like their name says; Containers hold other objects or content such as text, media, or even other widgets. Perhaps an easier way to visualize a container is to think of the basic page grid layout, when placing a container within a cell or row/column you are adding another grid layout within that cell or row/column. This will give you finer control over element or content placement
