Cascade

Calendar

Description

The calendar widget displays events on the page, and allows seeing a detail view of each event. The calendar also has a teaser view that can be placed on a page to show a short list of upcoming events that a user can click on to get a detailed view of an event, or see the main calendar view.

The calendar allows for integrating with multiple feeds from Cascade, feeds from Google calendars, and feed from R25. To create a custom feed in Cascade, you simply created calendar items in the items folder inside the calendar widget.

How-to

To create a new Calendar widget you must first select the parent folder (We recommend adding it to calendar in the widgets folder). Then head to the "New" dropdown menu in the upper left and select Widgets>>Calendar. This will create a new Calendar widget in the selected parent folder. Select your new Calendar widget page and select "edit", you may now configure your new widget.

See the Form Fields section to see what each field corresponds to. You may specify XML calendar feeds from within Cascade or link external calendar feeds such as .ics calendar feeds from iCal or Google Calendar. You may set multiple sources for the widget. Currently List is the only display mode for the Calendar widget.

Notes:
  1. (8/3/12) We are currently experiencing issues with the Calendar Widget and how far in the future it looks for events. If your events do not show in the Calendar then it is likely that they are too far in the future. We are working to set the dates farther in the future.
