Confidentiality

Initial contacts from parents are greatly appreciated, especially when negotiating the steps in submitting required documentation. Once the semester begins, however, we are unable to disclose student information to you without a Consent for Disclosure form signed by your son/daughter. For more information about confidentiality related to student educational records, please read PLU's FERPA Policy Statement.

  • Disability Rights Washington "DRW is a private non-profit organization that protects the rights of people with disabilities statewide.  Our mission is to advance the dignity, equality, and self-determination of people with disabilities.  We work to pursue justice on matters related to human and legal rights."
  • Washington PAVE  "Washington PAVE is a parent directed organization that works with families, individuals with disabilities, professionals and community members in all walks of life and with all types of disabilities. Since 1979, PAVE has provided information, training and support for over 1,000,000 individuals with disabilities, parents and professionals."
  • Letter to Parents "An Open Letter to Parents of Students with Disabilities About to Enter College."  Written by Jane Jarrow.  According to DAIS "Jane E. Jarrow, Ph.D. has established a reputation for being knowledgeable and articulate in understanding and presenting the issues of importance related to disability in the higher education arena. She is a prolific author and an acknowledged leader in the field. Her professional involvement in this field spans almost 30 years and includes her long tenure as the Executive Director of the Association on Higher Education and Disability (AHEAD)."
