Principal/Program Administrator Certification


The PLU School of Education and Movement Studies/Department of Instructional Development and Leadership announce a new principal certification program for experienced educators.  This comprehensive best-practice, research-supported program is designed to build and enhance leadership skills for those candidates who work in urban, rural, and suburban school systems.  Based on current Washington Principal/Program Administrator Standard-Based Benchmarks, program candidates will acquire the practical knowledge and skills they need to lead a school community, not only for today but into the future.  PLU candidates will target development of the ability to be responsive and results-oriented leaders able to face the challenges of a dynamic school community.

Summer Session 2008

[Classes meet July 7 - August 15, 9:30am-2:30pm Tuesdays and Thursdays]

 EDUC 570: Introduction to Educational Leadership                                 2 semester hours
    EDUC 574: Instruction and Curriculum: Theory and Development        3 semester hours

Fall Semester 2008

   [Classes meet Wednesdays, 5:30-8:30 and the second Saturday of each month, 9am-3pm]

 EDUC 573 A & B: Practicum I  & II                                                                   2 semester hours
    EDUC 579: Leading Schools for Today                                                         2 semester hours

    EDUC 577: School Finance                                                                              2 semester hours


J-Term 2009
