Steve serves as the Associate Dean in the Dept. of Instructional Development and Leadership, which includes coordinating the MA in Instructional Leadership Program for inservice teachers. He has published articles in the areas of teacher education, education and public health history, and community studies in Cultural Studies and Critical Methodologies, Democracy and Education, Urban Education, Teachers College Record, The Social Science Journal, and others. Steve was recently elected to serve on the Governmental Relations and Advocacy Committee of the American Association of Colleges for Teacher Education. He has been active in the South Puget Sound serving on governmental and non-profit boards and steering committees that address homelessness, juvenile justice, child welfare and mental health services.
