Undergraduate Endorsements

Candidates choose to major in either Elementary Education, Physical Education, Music Education or Outreach Education. World (foreign) Languages and secondary endorsements are also available.

Elementary education candidates must also complete one of the following: Early Childhood Special Education Education, Special Education, Reading, or English Language Learners.  Elementary Education candidates interested in middle school teaching should consider middle level endorsements in Math, Science, and/or Humanities.

  • Elementary Education (K8)
  • English Language Learners (P12) (Can only be earned with another content area endorsement such as Elementary Education or a Secondary Education content area)

  • German (P12)
  • Health and Fitness (P12, formerly Physical Education, offered as a degree program in the Department of Kinesiology)
  • Japanese (P12)
  • Middle Level Humanities (5-9)
  • Middle Level Mathematics (5-9)
  • Middle Level Science (5-9)
  • Music (P12 endorsements available in General, Choral, and Instrumental, offered as a degree program in the Music Department)
