The Road to Your Future: Career and Internship Fair 2009
For the Pacific Lutheran University community, the road to a successful future may be just around the corner, as the PLU Career Development and Academic Internships Offices present the Fall 2009 Career and Internship Fair Oct. 28 and 29.
Students, staff, faculty and alumni are all invited and encouraged to participate in this free biannual event, as the next opportunity will not be until Mar. 10 and 11, 2010. (Check out last Fall's Fair HERE and last Spring's HERE)
As Career and Academic Advisor Pamela Deacon-Joyner put it, “Times are tough and unemployment is at its highest. The Career and Internship Fair is all about prospects, whether it be a prospective employer or internship opportunity. If you’re not looking for a job, there will be graduate schools represented as well. This is an excellent opportunity to network and get a feel for the type of people employers are looking for.”
Deacon-Joyner also expressed her excitement about the number of opportunities available this year, saying “Given the continued economic uncertainty, we are pleased to have received a solid number of registrations for the Fall 2009 Career and Internship Fair. Although registrations are down a little from last fall, we expect around 70 businesses and schools to participate. The fact that so many companies continue to attend PLU’s Career Fair speaks volumes about their commitment and interest in recruiting quality candidates from PLU.”

Another resource for students is the College Central Network (CCN), which allows students to search for jobs targeted to PLU, upload a resume that can be searched by employers (if authorized), receive emails about programs, services and job-related topics, and manage on-campus interview schedules.
