A great place to study

Known internationally for having diverse academic programs and personal interaction with professors, PLU has more than 3,500 students and 250 faculty (a 14:1 ratio). Each year more than 150 international students come to PLU to continue their study. At PLU, fellow students become both friends and collaborators; professors become both teachers and mentors.
Along with placing consistently in the top 10 in the West by US News and World Report , PLU was recently ranked 7th nationally by the Institute of International Education for percent of graduates who have studied abroad. PLU students bring world issues, global research and diverse perspectives to the classroom. In the fall of 2002, PLU launched the Wang Center for International Programs to further strengthen the university's focus on globally minded instruction. World events shape our lives, and PLU's philosophy—both in the classroom and in the community—reflects that reality. Regardless of major, your participation and perspective is important to the PLU community.
Whatever your area of interest, PLU will provide you with a well-rounded education: the liberal arts are combined with professional programs; study and classroom activity complemented by hands-on experiences in the professional world.
PLU has unique Northwest internship and work opportunities
PLU provides students support and resources in finding internships to enrich their academic experience. Along with local companies with strong ties to the university, PLU students can find internships at internationally heralded Fortune 500 corporations—learn the technology of Microsoft, the forest products of Weyerhaeuser or the coffee of Starbucks—all at their international headquarters near our campus. After you have completed your degree, you can take part in the Practical Training Program to enhance your educational experience. Students can work in the United States up to 12 months after graduation and apply to have an extension of up to six years (H Visa).
