Scholarship Opportunities


PLU has a long-standing tradition of welcoming transfer students to campus. Additionally the University recognizes the academic accomplishments of transfer students with a number of merit scholarships.  Please see the following scholarship programs and consider applying today.

PLU Provost’s Scholarships - $12,000

Eligibility: All full-time transfer applicants (including international students)

Amount: $12,000 per year (renewable for undergraduate study only)

Number: 40 scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit and need.  Scholarships will be awarded to students in each of the eight academic divisions at PLU.  Academic divisions include Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, Humanities, Business, Education, Fine Arts and Communications, Nursing, and Physical Education.

Awarding: Provost’s scholarships will replace all other PLU merit based aid.

Application: Eligible students must complete the Provost’s Transfer Scholarship Application form. Applications are due May 1st for fall applicants and November 15th for spring applicants.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships - $1,000-2,500

Eligibility: All transfer students who are active members of Phi Theta Kappa at the time of application.

Amount: $1,000 - 2,500 per year (renewable for undergraduate study only)

Number: Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit.

Awarding: Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships may be awarded in addition to an Academic Merit Awards or Provost’s Scholarships.

Application: Students must indicate PTK membership on the PLU application for admission. No other application is required.

Academic Merit Awards - $7,000-$10,000

Eligibility: All full-time transfer applicants are considered for Academic Merit Awards.

Amount: Awards range in value between $7,000 and $10,000 (renewable for undergraduate study only).

Number: All full-time transfer applicants are considered for Academic Merit Awards.

Awarding: Students are notified of their Academic Merit Awards via the Financial Aid package.

Application: Students must complete the PLU application for admission. No other application is required.
