More than just free of disease
Health is defined by the World Health Organization as:
"a state of physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of physical disease or infirmity."
Most of us take good health for granted, not really accepting that we must actively pursue a lifestyle that promotes it.
And with the advances in medical knowledge it is often assumed that any and all states of "dis-ease" can be resolved with a simple pill and no effort on our part.
However, the old adage, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" is still true. There are no easy fixes or painless cures and keeping the complex union of physical, mental and spiritual health balanced takes daily upkeep.
On these pages you will find some health topics that are of concern to the majority of students and hopefully useful information and resources.
