Pacific Lutheran University has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this Web site: Help Desk.

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server, and to administer our Web site.

Our site's registration form in Banner requires users to give us unique identifiers (like their social security number). Unique identifiers (such as social security numbers) are collected to verify the user's identity.

This site contains links to other sites. User Support and PacificLutheran University are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. 

Our site uses service order and feedback forms for students, faculty, and staff to request information, services, and to give feedback. We collect visitor's contact information (like their e-mail address). Contact information from the order form is used to better serve our customers. The customer's contact information is used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary.

Our site also has mailing subscriptions that students, faculty, and staff may subscribe to. We collect visitor's contact information (like their e-mail address). The customer's contact information is used to get in touch with the visitor when necessary. Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings by selecting the unsubscribe option.

Public Forums

This site may make blog commenting available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.User Support and Pacific Lutheran University are not responsible for the content posted on these public forums. This site gives users the following options for changing and modifying information previously provided for service requests.

  1. Log in to http://helpdesk.plu.edu with your PLU ePass username and password. Click on the "History" button to retrieve your request. Add a note describing the chnage/update you want to make to the request.

  3. Email helpdesk@plu.edu with a description of what needs to be changed/updated.
