All faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to participate in personal and professional development day on Tuesday, February 7th, 2012. Human Resources is sponsoring a variety of concurrent workshops throughout the day, details and descriptions are included below.

Open House in ADMN 213 from 11am to 3pm

A pilot project, “Innovation & Faculty Development Space for 21st Century Learning” resulted in renovation of the space, infrastructure, furniture, and technology in ADMN 213. One of the goals of this pilot project is to encourage innovation in the curriculum through creation of a teaching space with the most effective instructional technologies.

Ergonomics for the Home and Office

Description: Presentation will cover basic ergonomics for computer use and hand held devices as well as body mechanics for activities at home and work.  Learn how to protect yourself and your family from repetitive motion injuries.

5 Habits of Highly Successful Investors

Description: Basic terms and functions of Microsoft Excel and hands-on exploration of the Excel 2010 interface. Best Practices in Working with Veteran Students

Content will focus on strategies and programs currently employed at Pacific Lutheran University to better serve Veteran Students enrolled and those being recruited.  Attendees will gain understanding of today's veterans and typical challenges faced in pursuit of degree. Information will also be shared about the Veteran Friendly Campus Initiative.
