Spring Fitness 2014

PLU offers fitness classes for staff and faculty during each term throughout the year.

When: Mondays, February 24 - April 28; 12:15-12:45pm
Where: February 24 - March 17: AUC CK
            March 24 - April 28: Columbia Center
Instructor: Jody Horn
Description: Staff, administrators, and faculty are invited to take a quick pause in your work day to focus on building strength, flexibility, and balance through hatha (physical practice) yoga.  You will learn various asanas or poses individually and then combine them in a flow.  At the end of the half hour, you will feel invigorated and refreshed to go back to work.  Please bring a yoga mat and a strap/belt.
Cost: $15
Minimum Enrollment: 12

Where: Fitness Center
Instructor: Allison Stephens
Description: Fit Club will combine cardio and strength exercises for a total body workout including running, jumping, lunges, squats, and weights. All exercises adjust to your fitness level. Please bring your PLU ID card and a water bottle.
Cost: $30

Where: Memorial Gym
Instructor: Paula Battle
Description: Faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to join us for aerobic calorie burning walk classes conducted using the indoor walking techniques.  Exciting, motivating music designed for pace and speed, along with four basic steps and strength training combos make this calorie torching, fat burning, stress releasing group fitness aerobic walk fun and suitable for all Walks of Life! Please wear comfortable clothes and fitness shoes, bring your PLU ID card and a water bottle.

Where: Columbia Center
Instructor: Bethany Auld
Description: Zumba Fitness is a dance workout that combines world and contemporary music and moves for a full-body, rhythmic workout. Come join the dance party and be ready to pump, swivel, shake, and shimmy!
Cost: $30
Minimum Enrollment: 12

When: Thursdays, February 13 - May 15*; 12:15-12:45pm
          *No Class on May 1
Where: Columbia Center
Instructor: Allison Stephens
Description: Build strength, stability, and balance through traditional abdominal exercises, pilates and plank. Please bring a mat or towel.
Cost: $20
Minimum Enrollment: 12

When: Fridays, February 14 - May 16*; 12:15-12:45pm
          *No Class on April 18
Where: Trinity Lutheran Church, Fireside Room
Instructor: The Venerable Jo Jo, Vietnamese Buddhist Meditation Center
Description: Open to all, including students. This will be a guided meditation session. Please bring a cushion, pillow, blanket, etc. to sit on.
