Getting Connected, Staying Connected.
At PLU, we take student involvement seriously. Take a look around you—everywhere you look there are programs happening, clubs meeting, discussion being had. The meaningful intersection of classroom and life is what the college experience is about! Now that you're here, we think that there are a few clubs, organizations, and activities that you'd be interested in as an international student.
Activities
English Conversation Hour
Once a week, the dCenter holds an English Conversation Hour geared toward Embassy CES and Transition I & II students. Come join the International Diversity Advocate and some native English speakers for an hour of snacks and good conversation.
Taste of Tacoma
Come and nourish your soul and join the DCenter as we travel to various places in the Tacoma and Seattle area to sample food from different cultures. This is an opportunity for you to learn about the many different cultures that exist in our local Tacoma community, as well as educate us about where you come from.
International Student Club
International Student Club President
Diversity Center
The dCenter is set up with a number of resources for you as a student, but starting last year, the dCenter created a new student leader position, the International Diversity Advocate. This Diversity Advocate's job is to help you, the international student, to feel welcome in the dCenter space, as well as setting up programs that tailor to your needs and desires as an international student. Have ideas? Want to share your culture with the rest of the PLU campus? Find your International Diversity Advocate and put them to work!
