If you are going to be studying first in the Transition Program OR if you have been recruited by Study Group agents, you will be automatically enrolled to Study Care insurance offered through Study Group.
If you are a Matriculated Student and have NOT been recruited by Study Group, you are automatically enrolled to PLU International Student Health Insurance. The cost for the PLU plan will be billed directly to your student account.
Whether you carry the Study Care Insurance or PLU International Student Health Insurance, PLU Health Center will be your primary care office where you can go for any health concerns. The Health Center is located on campus and houses a very friendly, knowledgeable staff.
If you would like to waive-out from PLU International Student Health Insurance, you must have your primarily insurance company submit a waive out form to PLU health center by an established deadline. Your primarily insurance coverage needs to be equivelant or better than PLU International Student Health Insurance.
In addition to insurance you will need to complete the International Student Medical History Record form prior to your arrival.
Although the Health Center can help any student with health concerns or questions, it is recommended that you take care of any dental and eye visits in your home country prior to arrival to PLU.
However, there is no need to get a physical or get immunization shots prior to your departure to US, as you will need to go to the Health Center during Orientation.
