Panic in the Streets of Parkland with Erik Udbye, Thursdays at 9pm
Greetings KCCR community! As a sophomore and a first time DJ, I am honored with the opportunity to be able to have my own radio show for the 2011-2012 school year. My show, titled Panic in the Streets of Parkland revolves around a specific weekly theme. Everything from the chillest of chillwave to the most banging of bangers will be streamed over the PLU airwaves rain or shine. In addition, I provide brief introductions about an artist as well as information about upcoming shows to the greater Seattle area. Coming from Tacoma and having lived here for the majority of my life, I am no stranger to the distinct northwest indie rock sound. In fact, like many, all throughout high school bands like Built to Spill and Modest mouse were the only things you would have found me listening to. More recently, I have dipped my toes into broader genres of music, many of which I will air on my show. You should have a listen!
At this time, I should probably tell you, the reader, more about me. I am a reserved person most of the time who likes to remain shrouded in a cloak of mystery. I am an intended engineering major/math minor interested in renewable energy and materials science as a career. I have rowed crew for approximately five years. Having lived in Trondheim, Norway for quite some time, I am bilingual and enjoy teaching others phrases in Norwegian. I love black liquorice more than most. If any of this sounds interesting to you, my radio show is on Thursdays at 21:00.
