Veterans Month at Pacific Lutheran University: Honoring Those Who Serve

With a rich history of working closely with the military community—and with university programs including a MacArthur Award-winning Army ROTC and full-tuition Yellow Ribbon Scholarships—Pacific Lutheran University honors veterans and their families through November with events that recognize service and sacrifice:

PLU vs. UPS Football Game
November 2
  • What: Military & Veteran Appreciation PLU vs. UPS Football Game
  • When: Gates Open: 11:30 a.m. Kickoff: 12:30 p.m.
  • Where: Sparks Stadium 601 7th Ave. SW, Puyallup, WA 98371
  • Veterans, active duty and family members get in free
  • I Corps Band from JBLM will perform, as well as PLU’s own Hermonic singing The National Anthem

VetConnect Resource Fair
November 9
  • What: VetConnect Resource Fair
  • Time: 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
  • Where: Scandinavian Cultural Center & Anderson University Center, Suite 133
  • Sponsored By: Safe Streets, VetCorps, CADCA Vet Corps
Veterans Day Breakfast
November 11
  • What: Veterans Day Breakfast at American Legion Post 2
  • Time: 8 a.m. – 9:20 a.m. (a van will return participants to campus by 9:30 a.m.)
  • Where: American Legion Post 2, 11204 Park Ave. Parkland, WA 
  • Group will meet at Harstad Hall parking lot at 7:45 a.m. A van will take participants to the breakfast.
  • Cost: Free for veterans. A $5 donation is suggested for other participants.

  • Keynote Speaker: PLU’s ROTC Lieutenant Colonel Kevin Keller, Professor of Military Science

Jazz Concert
