The program offers a general MBA or the option to customize your experience with an emphasis area including: Entrepreneurship & New Venture Management, Health Care Management or Technology & Innovation Management.
The PLU MBA Program encourages creative and Innovative thinking. Part of your program will be continually seeking to identify issues and challenges in the workplace that can be addressed in new ways; at PLU, we call this "value creation." Creating value in your organization requires that you sharpen the tools that will help you secure resources, manage spending, implement technology and streamline the supply chain - as well as possess the leadership skills to implement change. You will develop these strategic skills in courses such as Managing Innovation, Accounting for Decision Making, and Economic Policy Analysis.
Professors are professionally and doctorally qualified. They teach fundamentals as well as the most current issues and trends. All have private sector experience and the majority have lived or worked abroad.
The average MBA class size is 15 students, allowing for a dynamic and personalized learning environment.
We understand the demands on your time. PLU MBA students come to campus two evening per week with classes starting at 6:00 p.m. You will begin the program by taking the MBA core. As you progress, you can choose elective courses to fulfill an area of emphasis or pursue a general MBA where you tailor the choice of electives to your interests.
The PLU MBA Program is designed to be completed in five terms (20-22 months), but you can take longer if you prefer. You can start your MBA in Fall, Spring, or Summer term and set the pace which works best for you. However, your degree must be completed within seven years.
Teamwork, interaction and diversity are key elements of your classroom experience. 95% of PLU MBA students have work experience so you will be engaged in learning from your classmates as well as from faculty, texts and cases.
You will be joining a select group of highly qualified and respected MBA alumni. The PLU MBA is connected to the business community in the Puget Sound area - and beyond - through fellow alumni, including members of the Executive Advisory Board (EAB) of the PLU School of Business. The role of the EAB is to provide guidance, support and assistance to the School of Business in fulfilling the school's mission. In addition, our alumni participate in networking events and mentoring opportunities through the PLU Business Network. These opportunities connect you to some of the fastest growing companies and largest enterprises in the region, as well as to entrepreneurs and leaders in closely held businesses.
