TIM Certificate

The TIM Certificate

Holders of MBA degrees from accredited universities are encouraged to pursue a Post-MBA Certificate in Technology and Innovation Management. Those holding other master's degrees are not eligible for admission due to lack of grounding in MBA core requirements.

Program Design:
A certificate-seeking student may make a reduced application (as compared to the comprehensive MBA application) seeking admittance to the post-MBA TIM certificate program. Required materials include:
The certificate requires successful completion of the following classes:

  • BUSA 541 Managing Innovation and Technology Change (4)
  • BUSA 555 Knowledge Management (4)
  • BUSA 580 Technology Strategy/Competitiveness (4)
  TIM Electives: (4)

  •  BUSA 542 Management of Change (2)
  •   BUSA 549 Contemporary Human Resource Management (2)
  • BUSA 558 New Venture Management (4)
  • BUSA 566 Developing New Products & Services (4)
  • BUSA 575 Electronic Commerce (4)
  • BUSA 577 Project Management (2)
  • BUSA 579 Technology Commercialization & Transfer (2)
  • Select Seminar courses (587, 588), Independent Study (591), and Internships (595) approved for TIM
If a student has received a PLU MBA in the past five years, previous TIM academic course work is counted toward completion of the certificate requirements. A minimum of ten post-MBA credits is required.

If a student has received an MBA from another institution in the past five years, equivalent previous academic course work is considered toward completion of the certificate requirements. A minimum of ten post-MBA credits is required.

The post-MBA certificate in TIM is posted to the graduate academic transcript.
