GRE SCORES

All applicants, including those holding master's degrees or doctorates in other subjects, are required to take the Graduate Record Exam (GRE). Test results must be less than 5 years old. Waivers are not issued, nor is another test (LSAT, GMAT, etc.) acceptable. Minimum scores are:

  • about 500 in the verbal portion, or equivalent scores (about 153) on the new scale on the revised GRE test
  • about 500 in the quantitative portion, or equivalent scores (about 145) on the new scale on the revised GRE test
  • 4.0 in the analytical writing portion

Applicants who must retake the GRE to meet minimum score requirements may be considered less competitive for admission. Preparation is key; applicants are strongly advised to prepare for the GRE. Free preparation materials and sample tests are available from the testing agency (www.ets.org/gre). In addition, many colleges and publishers offer test preparation courses, books and sample tests. Contact your university or local college to learn about GRE test preparation opportunities. To see a list of services that the School of Nursing has identified in Pierce County, click here.

ADVANCE TUITION DEPOSIT

Because space is limited in the MSN program, applicants accepted into the program are required to make a $300.00 non-refundable advance tuition deposit within two weeks of their acceptance date to confirm their acceptance of an offer of admission. The deposit is not a separate fee, but goes toward your tuition expenses. Click here to make your non-refundable $300.00 tuition deposit.
