Welcome to "Neighbors: Opening the Door." This web site is the home of a journalism project that consists of newspaper, video and web components. Communication students in the In-Depth News Reporting class at Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, Washington, author the project. Our goal is to learn and report about the relationship between PLU and its neighbor, the Parkland community.

We will update this web site as we collect information via research and interviews. Look for video clips and news articles under each of the focus categories– history, students, community, future and East Campus.

Our video presentation is scheduled for May 3, 2004 at 7 p.m. in Xavier Hall 201. Please join us.

The print component of the project will appear in the last spring issue of the student newspaper The Mast, May 7. You may pick up a copy at various distribution boxes around campus (the administration building, university center, etc.).
