The Parkland community can be divided into several smaller communities: the Pacific Avenue businesses, the Parkland residents, the Tule Lake suburbs and the military bases. How do these communities influence Parkland and PLU? How does the university interact with these communities? In this section, we will examine the attitudes of community members (residents, businesses, and military etc.) toward the university. Is PLU a good neighbor, a bad neighbor or, as some have described it, an 800-pound gorilla loose in the neighborhood?
