Residential Life: Housing Information for 2014-15

Now that Spring semester is officially under way, you and your PLU student are probably talking about the 2014-15 school year. The process for current students to request housing for next year gets started in March. There are a diverse array of options, exciting changes and details to attend to. Residential Life wants your student to be happy, comfortable and successful. Encourage your student to start the housing process now.

HERmonic Wins ICCA quarterfinals

PLU hosted the quarterfinal round of the 18th annual International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella in the Karen Hille Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. HERmonic, PLU's all female group, stole the show, securing a first-place victory and the chance to compete in the ICCA semi-final round.

Powell-Heller Holocaust Conference

The seventh annual Powell-Heller Conference will be held March 12-14, 2014 and will feature current work of Dr. Christopher Browning, Pierre Sauvage, Susannah Heschel and others. Rounding out the conference will be faculty involved in the newly-approved Holocaust/Genocide Minor at PLU, Washington State Holocaust Education Resource Center teacher training and talks by Holocaust survivors. The theme for this conference will be "Survivors and Rescuers." Registration is now open.

Student Voice: Ingrid Clark '16

Ingrid is a sophomore from Kenmore, Washington, majoring in biology with minors in writing and women's and gender studies. Her experience with the Diversity Center's annual Tunnel of Oppression event and opportunity to be a Rieke Scholar has provided an outlet for her passion for social justice.
