Dear PLU Parents,
It’s not too late to register to attend Family Weekend this year on November 2-4, 2012! There truly is something for every family, and we would love to see you at as many of the events as your schedule allows. If you are unable to attend, please encourage your students to go with their friends to enjoy the activities – we are all a part of the LUTE FAMILY and we love to celebrate that!

Along with Family Weekend, here are some things of interest for November:
Winter is almost here! Has your student made plans for Thanksgiving and Winter Break? In addition to these important dates, your student will need to decide whether they want to stay in their current hall or explore other options for J-term and Spring. Cancellation requests are due December 1st.
If your student is graduating this spring, they recently received their first emails about important details and deadlines for applying for graduation. If you would like to know more about the application process, here are the details.
At PLU, learning assistance resources are plentiful and free for registered undergraduate students. Were mid-terms rough for your student? Encourage him/her to seek the resources available in the Academic Assistance Center!
PLU’s inspirational Christmas concerts return this year with concerts in Seattle, Portland and on the PLU campus. The program features the Choir of the West, University Chorale and members of the University Symphony Orchestra performing hymns, carols and a choral orchestral masterwork, all in the great tradition of Lutheran choral music. Tickets go on sale starting November 1.
Isamar Henriquez is a first generation senior whose path to PLU wasn’t always very clear. As an active student in the Diversity Center, Isamar has found amazing leadership opportunities, kindled her passion for social justice and become a Rieke Scholar.
Can't be with your student for their birthday this year? Send them a special surprise through Send a Smile!
