Mark is a Shareholder/Attorney at law with Morton McGoldrick, P.S., specializing in real estate and corporate law. He's a transplant from the midwest, and is still with the same law firm that was my first interview when I arrived in 1987.
Mark does a lot of volunteer work with non-profits in the community. He serves on multiple boards, and is "counsel" for several organizations.
Mark likes the outdoors, and enjoys trying to be active (its good release from the desk job).
"My daughter Anna is thriving at PLU. She has always inspired me...and it has been a priority for Wendy and I to be involved with our children's education."
Favorite thing about PLU: I have been impressed with PLU's commitment with the whole student. I believe in the value of a liberal arts education-- particularly in this economy when "traditional" career paths may not be available. The PLU staff, starting top-down with Loren and MaryAnn Anderson, "live the talk" about the mission of the school and commitment to our community.
Wendy has been a secondary teacher for the past 20 years, teaching social studies, community service-learning, and also working as a diversity co-director. She has recently taken the past few years off to focus on her family and to volunteer in the Tacoma community in education and health non-profits.
Wendy loves to read, travel, cook, and dance, especially "zumba" classes at the YMCA.
"I love how personal and welcoming PLU is and how this university has such a clear sense of its mission to educate its students to find their true "vocation" in life."
I am always so impressed by the PLU grads that I meet in the Tacoma community, who are truly serving others with their talents. I like being part of this mission. I have also loved watching how our daughter has blossomed at PLU and want to give back to this school, which has been so good to her.
Favorite thing about PLU: I am so impressed with PLU's commitment and dedication to global learning. The opportunities and programs are off such high quality and the experiences are life-changing. Our daughter is currently studying in Argentina this fall, and then heads to China for J-term. These opportunities have truly shaped her life in such a positive way.
