Emeriti professors from the Department of Art and Design display a lifetime worth of works. Dennis Cox's career has been involved with Drawing, Printmaking and Watercolor while David Keyes' work consists of Ceramic Sculpture and Vessels, Cast and Fabricated Bronze/Mixed Media Techno-Archaic Sculptures.

March 13 - Opening Reception for Each Form Overflows its Present by Cynthia Camlin and Elise Richman

Cynthia Camlin and Elise Richman engage in painterly processes that evoke water, ice, and geological processes. Camlin captures ice’s crystalline structure and the primordial depths of ice shelves, conveying environmental concerns. Richman’s process-driven work references the local marine environment in order to express interconnectedness and states of flux.
Light refreshments provided. All are welcome.

March 8 - Tour of the Fort Lewis Museum

Free to all PLU students, faculty and staff. $10 for the public.
Curator, Miles Grant will speak on the history of the Ft Lewis military museum and the recently completed renovations. A self-guided tour of the grounds and museum exhibits will follow. A military sticker or temporary Visitor Pass required for access to military post. Dean Butterworth speaks to Learning Is ForEver. The largest dam removal in U.S. history is underway in Olympic National Park, and sediment and salmon are on the move. Dean Butterworth, Outreach and Education Specialist for the National Park Service, gives a lecture titled "Elwha River Restoration- Natural Wonders Never Cease."

March 26 - The Face of Hunger in Pierce County.

Join us as Helen McGovern, EFN's Executive Director, will speak to Learning Is ForEver. The mission of the Emergency Food Network (EFN) is “to provide a reliable food supply so that no person in Pierce County goes hungry.” EFN operates four distinct programs: 1) the Distribution Center, 2) the Mother Earth Farm in Orting 3) the Orchard in Roy, and 4) the Gleaning Project. During 2011 there were more than 1.2 million (more than 309,000 unduplicated) visits to Food banks and over 15.5 million meals provided in Pierce County.
