Each year a group of dedicated students work to put on an 18-hour event at the track on campus at PLU. This 18-hour event is full of games, music, community fun, and walking for a cause! All of this takes place to honor and celebrate cancer survivors and to fight together for a cure! PLU Relay For Life is on again this year and is coming up fast. The event will kick off on Friday, April 27th at 6:00pm and will continue through the night and into Saturday. Everyone – students, staff, and community members alike – are invited and encouraged to join us for the fun!
Last year, participants of Relay For Life raised over $40,000 towards cancer research and support patient services provided by The American Cancer Society. This year, our goal is to reach $42,000! Students have already begun to register for teams and are working together to raise money towards our goal and to fight back against cancer. This event is attended by students across campus, staff members at PLU, faculty departments, and community members around Parkland and Tacoma. It is a favorite event of each spring semester and we want to invite you to participate as well! This year is also very special as Dr. Anderson and MaryAnn are Honorary Event Chairs joining us in the fight.
