On January 6 & 7, first-year students will be in for a treat with the 8th annual Explore! First-Year Student Retreat. The retreat is FREE and open to any first-year student at PLU.
By attending, students would join over one thousand Lutes before them who have participated in this PLU tradition. Designed as part of the university’s Wild Hope Project/Center for Vocation, the Explore! Retreat supports PLU’s commitment to a campus educational environment rich with reflection and dialogue about meaning and purpose in life. The retreat encourages students to think about who they are, where they are going, and what they might do with their “One Wild and Precious Life.”
Explore! is intentionally offered during students' first J-Term (as part of PLU’s First Year Experience Program). The First Year Experience Program supports students in successful transitions to the college experience. The transition to PLU is not over just because the first semester is! Please encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity to consider some of his or her goals and passions during a pause from the fast pace of J-term.
The Explore! Retreat will take place on the PLU campus Friday evening (January 6th) and at Charles Wright Academy on Saturday (January 7th). Transportation to Charles Wright Academy will be provided. However, registration is required. Students can visit the Explore! website to learn more about the retreat.
