Our summer to-do list will make your arrival to campus easier and
stress-free. Please read below for additional information about
each item listed below. New students should read eNews throughout
the summer for more details and additional "to-dos."
1. Register
your vehicle and review on-campus parking options.
2. Visit Student Services to:
a. Return
your payment contract
b. Update your address
c. Return your offer of Financial Aid
3. Arrange for an absentee ballot (register to vote if you haven't
already!)
4. Pack your health insurance card.
5. Review medical withdrawal insurance options.
6. Request disability accommodation, if appropriate.
7. Student athlete? See special notes for athletes below.
8. Buy your books online at http://luteworld.plu.edu/
Vehicle
Registration and Parking
All vehicles brought to campus must be
registered with Campus Safety, and must display a 2005-2006 parking
decal (last year's decal will be invalid as of August 31, 2005).
Commuter
Students and Resident Students must pay a $30 vehicle registration
fee. Additional fees for the Tingelstad Gated Lot and South Hall
Lot are listed below.
You can use
your ePass to register your car online at www.plu.edu/~slif/cs
beginning on the dates listed below. If you do not have computer
access, then use one of PLU's computer labs or computers at your
local library. Please note: spaces in the South Hall and Tingelstad
lots are sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
South Hall Lot
July 12 ...........................
$105 (includes $30 vehicle fee)
South Hall Parking
Lot, which is gated but not fenced, has assigned parking spaces.
Only students living in South Hall may purchase a South Hall decal.
Commuter & Resident Students
August 2 ....................................
$30 vehicle fee
Freshman resident
students will be assigned to the Olson Parking Lot on lower campus.
Tingelstad Gated Lot
August 15 ......................
$165 (includes $30 vehicle fee)
Tingelstad Gated
Lot is a fenced and gated lot on lower campus. Any student can purchase
a space in this lot for the academic year.

Student
Services
Payment Contracts and Address Confirmation Forms must be submitted
prior to the start of classes. If you received an offer of Financial
Aid, then you must sign and return it to Student Services to take
advantage of the aid offered to you. Contact the Student Services
Center at 253-535-7161 or 800-678-3243 with questions.
Voter
Registration
A core value at PLU is active citizenship. You can insure that your
voice will be heard by registering to vote at your permanent residence.
PLUs goal is to have every eligible voter registered. Request
an absentee ballot online at http://justvote.org/vote_absentee_ballot.html. Register to vote online at www.rockthevote.com.

Health
Insurance
It is strongly recommended that you have health insurance while
you attend PLU. Nursing students and students studying abroad must
have health insurance. International students will receive insurance
information from the Wang Center for International Programs. Information
on several individual medical insurance plans can be found on the
Health Services website at www.plu.edu/~slif/hs/
or call Health Services at 253-535-7337 for more information.
Medical
Withdrawal Insurance
Students are offered an optional insurance plan through Dewar Insurance
Company that covers tuition, room and meals should the need arise
to withdraw from PLU for medical reasons. For more information,
please access the Dewar Web site at www.collegerefund.com
and select Pacific Lutheran University, or contact the Office of
Student Life at 253-535-7191, slif@plu.edu.
Students
with Disabilities
If you have a disability and wish to request accommodations, please
contact Dr. Alene Klein, Director of Services for Students with
Disabilities, at least six weeks prior to the start of classes.
Guidelines for required documentation and relevant policies are

If you will be living on campus and need special

Athletes
If you are considering participating as a varsity athlete, please
contact Gary Nicholson, PLU Athletic Trainer, at 253-535-7366 or
253-535-7350.
New athletes are required to complete the new athletic physical
form prior to attending tryouts, practice or competition. You may
obtain the form from the coach, athletic trainer, Athletics Office
or the Athletics website at www.plu.edu/~phed.
Health Services offers physical exams for $60. Please call after
August 18, 2005 to schedule an appointment (253-535-7337).
Returning PLU athletes should contact their coach directly or via
the Athletics Office at 253-535-7350 for fall practice schedules.
Returning varsity athletes are required to have a returning athletes
update in the training room with Gary Nicholson. Please be prepared
to provide current information on illness and injury. For more information,
call 253-535-7366 or the Athletics Office.
